Hummingbirds | The miracle of flight
In order to capture this image I spent three days deep in the Costa Rican highlands rain forest. I found an Heliconia vellerigera also known as 'Heliconia King-Kong' and I set up a white background. My goal was to enhance the clean lines of this Green-Crowned Brilliant Hummingbird, Heliodoxa jacula, and the incredible texture of the plant waiting the bird came to suck the nectar. With the help of six strobes and a wireless shutter release and after over thousand frames I managed to get the bird in the right position just before reaching the flower.
