I’ve Got My Eye On You
Green basilisk | The creature that can run on water
Exploring the many pathways that criss-cross 'La Selva' biological station, considered to be one of the most important tropical and ecological investigation centres in the world, I came across this Double-crested Basilisk camouflaged on the end of an enormous folded leaf waiting for its next prey. Their amazing ability to 'walk' on water for short distances has given them the nickname of the 'Jesus Christ lizard'. At the same time it is also known in classical mythology as 'The King of the Snakes'.
