The Brain
Fractal harmony | The geometry of Nature
Close to the Bay of Cádiz and viewed from the air the sinuous meandering patterns of the San Fernando marshes show how fractal geometry also appears in nature. Green enteromorpha algae cover the intertidal zones, while silt and sludge build up, together with the presence of sulphuric bacteria give a darker range of colour. This aerial image was taken at low tide during the full moon phase, from a low angle to emphasize the volumes of the patterns. The appearance of this image remembers me a human brain.
