A Journey to Snaefellsnes
Iceland in Miniature | The variety of scenery
In a light aircraft and with favourable weather conditions I headed for the place that inspired Jules Verne to write his famous fanciful story "Journey to the Centre of the Earth". The Snaefellsnes peninsula named "Iceland in miniature", is directly exposed to the Atlantic Ocean and is a place of great scenic diversity that lends the area a touch of magic and mystery. After an hour’s flight and close to the hidden islet of Gamlaeyri, a beach of golden sand, intense blue waters, three swans followed by their own shadows presented me with this unforgettable image of the land of ice and fire.
