Labyrinth
Map Puffer | Let's inflate the body!
A particular characteristic of the puffer fish, Arothron mappa, is their ability to inflate their stomachs by ingesting large quantities of water and air until they are almost spherical in shape. In this way they can double their size and erect their pointed spines when threatened as a deterrent to any potential predators. There are over 120 species, all of them of exquisite beauty like this Map Puffer Fish with its interminable labyrinthine markings.
