The Watchmaker

Pantless treefrog | The golden yellow frog with a clock in its back

Principally active at night and after rainfall, this frog displays a golden brown colour with tiny yellow spots. Individuals can change colour depending on the time of day or their levels of stress. Their principal identifying feature is the hourglass outline on their backs. Their eggs are laid on an over-hanging leaf, so that the tadpoles can develop safe from predators until they hatch and drop directly into the water.
